Initial Environmental Examination (IEE)

SLP Environmental was awarded the contract to prepare the Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) for the Pun Hlaing Golf Lodge boutique hotel development located within the Pun Hlaing Golf Estate complex in Hlaingtharya Township, Yangon Region, Myanmar. Our consultants prepared the IEE study in general accordance with the requirements and guidance contained in the:

• Environmental Impact Assessment Procedure, Ministry of Environmental Conservation and Forestry, Notification No. 616 / 2015 (29 December 2015); and
• International Finance Corporation (IFC) Environmental, Health, and Safety Guidelines for Tourism and Hospitality Development (April 2007).

The Project comprised of a luxury hotel lodge with a total of 46 rooms and a Gross Floor Area (GFA) of 13,600sq.m on a total plot area of 8,880 sq.m.

The ESIA study was multi-disciplinary in nature comprising of numerous specialist sub-component studies including; environmental and socio-economic baseline studies, traffic baseline survey, stakeholder engagement, impacts identification and evaluation and the preparation of the environmental and social management and monitoring plan (ESMMP) for the project.

SLP Environmental is an approved EIA Consulting Organisation under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation (MONREC) Consultant Registration Scheme and is legally permitted to prepare and submit Initial Environmental Examination (IEE), Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP) reports on behalf of project developers in Myanmar.

SLP Environmental has a proven track record in Myanmar and has successfully completed in excess of twenty assignments to National and International Financial Institution (IFI) standards across multiple sectors on behalf of both international inward investors and local project developers.
