Chemicals Manufacturing Facility, Thailand
SLP was appointed to perform a Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) and an Environmental Compliance Review (ECR) at a large polymer and chemicals manufacturing facility located in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand, as part of an acquisition environmental due diligence (EDD) assessment.
The Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) comprised of a review of readily available documentation, a site reconnaissance and interviews with the Target company’s Representative. The Phase 2 ESA assessment comprised of an intrusive environmental site investigation to recover soil and groundwater samples for laboratory analysis for a comprehensive range of inorganic and organic constituents. The Environmental Compliance Review comprised of a review of documentation made available by the DD Target, an onsite audit and interviews with key personnel responsible for environmental management.
The objective of the Phase 1 ESA was to determine whether there were any potential Recognised Environmental Conditions (REC) associated with the Subject Property. The primary objective of the Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessment was to determine whether historic and or current activities at the Subject Property, or in its immediate environs, had resulted in soil and or groundwater contamination levels which exceed statutory thresholds. The objective of the ECR was to identify missing programs/permits and non-compliances with national environmental regulatory requirements, and where such were identified to propose corrective actions to address the findings.
The findings of the overall assessment were presented in one consolidated report which included a description of the works, the findings, conclusions and recommendations. All supporting documentation such as figures, plans, engineering logs, laboratory data and photolog were provided in the report appendices.
