Press Release: 1st January 2008

Steve Pearmain, former Head of Land Quality at Atkins Global, and Liz Heath former Principal at Waterman Environmental, establish SLP Environmental in Bangkok, Thailand to service the rapidly expanding South East Asian environmental consultancy market.

SLP Environmental (SLP) are a niche consultancy whose highly qualified in-house team and approved affiliates offer specialist consultancy services across a range of environmental disciplines. These include environmental due diligence (EDD), site characterization and remediation, carbon calculation, environmental risk assessment (QRA) modelling, environmental impact assessment (EIA), environmental sustainability services, environmental toxicology and air and water quality assessments.

Bangkok was chosen as SLP’s headquarters and regional hub as it is ideally located in the heart of South East Asia with excellent infrastructure, human resources, academic institutions, communication links and internationally accredited analytical laboratories. Being no more than four hours flying time to other South East Asian countries (e.g. Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam) and other regional capitals (e.g. Phnom Penh, Jakarta, Vientiane, Kuala Lumpur, Yangon, Manila, Singapore and Hanoi) SLP are never more than a few hours away from their global corporate clients and international projects.

Our international experience coupled with our extensive local networks means we can provide services of the highest international standards co-ordinated and delivered at the local level.

Prior to establishing SLP Steve headed up the Land Quality Division at Atkins Global, Europe’s largest multi-disciplinary consultancy. During his tenure Steve was responsible for some of the largest environmental projects in the United Kingdom including remedial design direction for the 2.5 sq km London 2012 Olympic Park Site located on brownfield land in East London.

Under his leadership Atkins were voted the “Best Consultancy for Contaminated Land 2007” for three consecutive years by peers and clients alike in the Environmental Excellence Awards organised by www.edie.net and Environment Business Magazine.

We have a proven track record in successfully delivering projects in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
