Environmental, Health & Safety Legal Register (EHS LRs)

New Thermal Power Plant, Lampang, Thailand

SLP’s Environment Health and Safety Consulting and Risk Management team (Bangkok) were appointed to prepare the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Legislation Register (Legal Register) for the construction of the new Mae Moh power generation unit in Lampang Province, Kingdom of Thailand.

The project involves the construction of the first ultra-supercritical lignite-fired power plant in Asia. The new unit will replace the existing units No’s 4-7 at the power station and will produce 600 MW of electricity. During construction the project will employ upwards of 3,000 people and the construction phase is expected to last some 4 years.

SLP assessors visited the construction project to familiarise themselves with construction phase activities and prepared a detailed questionnaire for the clients completion. A detailed EHS Legal Register for the project was completed summarising the key aspects for each legal requirement (General Environment, Hazardous Materials, Waste, Soil Water, Air, Noise, Safety, Occupational Health, Technical Safety, Chemical, Hazardous Materials and Emergency Preparedness), full citations and link to source material as relevant to the project.
